About Us

Menopause: New Perspectives is a project which aims to create a cultural space for the menopause in the arts and humanities. This website will showcase the menopause in the worlds of literature, film, music, art and history. We are also proud to host the world’s first online Menopause Museum. We will explore how this key milestone in a woman’s life has been both demonised and celebrated and continues to be a source of inspiration for artists, writers and filmmakers. 

This website is run by the Scholarly Association of Menopausal Studies (SAMS) in association with the University of the West of England, Falmouth University and Sussex University.
